We stayed at Mas de la Perdrix for the first time in 2008 and immediately fell in love with the wonderful home that Marilyn and Jim have created. We have rented houses in the Luberon for many years and their house is the warmest and most lovingly restored home we have stayed in. It is in a fabulous location close to our favourite towns of Gordes, Menerbes and Roussillon. It is a perfect house to stay in with small children, as Marilyn and Jim have taken enormous care to ensure the best quality of everything and in particular, have a very secure cover for the swimming pool (something which is difficult to find). We would absolutely recommend their home to anyone to stay in. In particular, Marilyn is a delight to liaise with on all aspects of your stay and we could not have hoped for a more special place to spend our holidays."

With very best wishes

From the first moment I stepped into the foyer of Mas de la Perdrix, I felt I had come home after a long journey. Photographs and pictures had given me some sense of what to expect, but what I didn't expect was the emotional impact of this magical and serene place.

Mas de la Perdrix is located in the tiny hameau (hamlet) of Les Barbiers in the Luberon valley of the south of France. We found ourselves conveniently within striking distance of several charming hill towns such as Roussillon, Gordes, Apt, and Bonnieux. Each of these villages is very proud of, and rightfully so, their specialty outdoor markets. "Foraging" for our supper each night was a delight as was the super-modern salle de cuisine of Mas de la Perdrix. This is a kitchen straight out of a foodie's dream!

The home has a centuries old exterior and a bright, modern interior with every imaginable convenience. Of the many well-planned features of the home, the very private bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, has to rate an A+ for any families or couples spending time together.

We were often torn by our desire to just sit outside by the pool and enjoy the peaceful countryside or jump in the car for an excursion to Isle sur la Sorgue, Arles or Avignon. Mas de la Perdrix will calm your senses and restore your soul. Apprécier!

We loved your fantastically well-equipped kitchen. It was so nice to find ourselves at a place where the knives were actually sharp and the pans weren't battered aluminum. Many thanks for providing us with a very memorable week.

Truly, you have thought of everything, right down to the scented soap! Thank you for creating your "dream house."

What a week! We truly felt like we were living in a movie from the French cinema; zipping around the beautiful countryside, stopping randomly at all the charming villages for shopping and long, leisurely lunches. Then to come back to your gorgeous home and prepare gourmet dinners with all of the fresh, delicious foods collected at the market of the day were priceless adventures in Provence. We all crave to come back.

Nearby, we loved the village of Roussillon and the Roman bridge at St. Julien. Further afield, we loved crossing Mt. Ventoux and being rewarded with the wines of the South Rhone.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was so nicely finished that it really felt like we were coming home at the end of the day. In particular, the kitchen and bathrooms worked fantastically well--something that is not common in Europe, even in high-end rentals.

We loved your house. It was a lot of fun. We had a great time. The pool was great and the view from the house was amazing. I love the swimming pool, thanks a lot.

Everything is so tastefully decorated; it really felt like being home. The boys especially loved the pool.

If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I never would have believed how beautiful this valley is! Every day was a new adventure and new tastes to the tongue. What a wonderful setting, gorgeous hillsides, beautiful colors and such incredible architecture.

We are so blessed to be able to visit this amazing BEAUTIFUL place, and to stay in such an inviting, warm, unique house. At the end of our days of exploring amazing villages and country sides, tasting the bounty of the land around us, we were welcomed by the comfortable and relaxing Mas de la Perdrix. Thank you for creating a haven for yourselves and for sharing it with the rest of us.

Mas de la Perdrix gave us an opportunity to pursue our favorite pastime, cooking, in a beautiful setting. Following our daily trips to markets, we made some wonderful dishes here in your well-equipped kitchen. Mas de la Perdrix is truly a home away from home.

We had a delightful holiday in Mas de la Perdrix. It is elegant, tasteful and extremely comfortable set in a former vineyard, the perfect place from which to enjoy the charm and beauty of the Luberon villages and countryside. The vineyard up the road (Domaine de Chantegrillet) makes and sells good Provence Rose-an excellent aperitif while sitting on the terrace watching the sun set.

We were very much "away with the fairies" in the most peaceful and wonderful home.
